I prefer the one on the right. There is more action and intensity with the cooler tones as opposed to the brightness on the other. In the one on the left, you can tell that the wind is blowing hard and it's a really meaningful and energetic scene. The one on the left is more soft and speaks more to a sad reminiscence whereas the one on the right is more passionate, raw and fresh. It's all about what you were going for I guess. C: Well done on both of them!

At first, I think what I liked about the older Simba one was that his mane was flying back more noticeably. But I love your newer version! I realized that I liked the older Simba one's tone, from how his mane is flying frantically backwards, like his past is trying to pull him back and he is resistant. But we all know in the end that it wasn't so much as a forceful pull, but of an embracing. Maybe that's why some may have loved your older one more, because it seems more apparent with the way his mane is drawn? Idk. In your new one, you were still able to capture the same tone with his mane, but now it feels more polished.
